RISK MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST: IT PROJECT MANAGEMENT (DEPUTY MANAGER LEVEL)

JOB PURPOSE: To strategically perform risk assessment on project management and information technology of
client in terms of legislative mandates and to provide the IT Risk Management consulting services to all the clients.
REQUIREMENTS: a Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma or an equivalent Three year qualification in Information
Technology/Information Systems or Computer Science. A minimum of Three (3) years experience in an Information
Technology/Risk Management/Auditing environment. Two (2) years junior management /supervisory experience will
serve as an added advantage. Computer literacy in Ms Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Internet and Email. Driver’s
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducting risk assessment on behalf of the Accounting officers, CEO’s and
Municipal Managers of Provincial Departments, Public Entities and Municipalities. Manage special project
associated with the IT and project management as directed by the Executive Councils, Audit Committee and
Municipal Managers/CEO. Develop IT Risk profile for Municipalities and Municipal Entities. Analyse and
benchmark IT risks and controls and provide advice on IT risk mitigation strategies. Facilitate training and
development in IT risk assessments and internal control in the Municipalities and municipal entities
COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of Risk Management strategies. Internal Controls,
PFMA and accompanying Treasury Regulations, PFSR, Management processes (specifically financial, procurement
and human resources) in the Public Service or PRIVATE Sector. Operating and reporting procedures and work
environment in the Public Service. Risk Management Strategies. Project Management. Systems Development Life
Cycle. Information System Analysis and design methodologies. Control objectives for Information and related
Technology. Information Technology Infrastructure Library. Minimum Information Security Standards. Information
system Audit and Control Association Guidelines. Institute of internal Auditors (IIA) Standards Guidelines. IT risk
and project management methodologies.
Candidates will be subjected to security screening prior employment.
