Legal Administration Officers – 2 Positions

LEGAL ADMINISTRATION OFFICER: ((MR3-MR5) 2 POSTS; REF NO: 14/96/CS 2 Years Contract Appointment)

SALARY : R170 508 – R616 758 per annum. (Salary will be determined in accordance with
experience as per OSD Determination). The successful candidate will be required to sign
a performance agreement.

CENTRE : National Office: Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS : An LLB Degree or equivalent four year legal At least 2 years appropriate post qualification
legal experience; Knowledge of Government and Departmental policies and strategy will
be an advantage; Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and
budgetary/financial management will be an advantage; A valid driver’s license. Skills and
Competencies: Dispute resolution; Policy development and Management; Project
Management; Legal research; Communication skills (written and verbal); Computer
literacy (MS Office); Report writing skills.

DUTIES : Key Performance Areas: Provide support services to the unit in relation to all performance
improvement initiatives; Coordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders/role players on
the effective implementation of legal framework related to the National Register for sex
offenders; Develop legal documents, memoranda, reports and government notices; Draft
Legal Research and ensure submission of strategic recommendation on appropriate
intervention of relevant stakeholders for effective implementation of the relevant
legislation; Handle legal administration tasks in accordance with instructions; Draft legal
opinion and guidelines or any other policies to facilitate the implementation of the relevant
legislation; Coordinates representations and complaints from Civil Society and other
Government Departments.
