Job Title:
Performs forensic data analysis and data mining to identify patterns of suspicious activity, outliers, anomalies and other issues that represent fraud risk
Develops, adjusts, and /or maintains fraud detection models to prevent losses on real time on-line transactions, oversee the implementation process and design reports to validate the model periodically
Develops operational metrics and benchmarking through reporting and trending
Monitors industry trends in any fraud related areas, including new fraud pattern, service, detection tool and any new technology
Detects, defines, and deters fraud and greater fraud schemes
Monitors operations for security and service quality, ensuring fraud products are delivered within established security guidelines and quality standards
Ensures fraud detection methods offered comply with financial industry security regulations and consumer privacy laws as they relate to the Company’s operations
Performs networking with other companies in the card-not-present payment environment to establish and leverage sound business practices
Performs ad-hoc investigative and statistical analytics to facilitate risk investigations and external stakeholders on their investigation of risk events
Explores, validates, and maintains data used for model development and results reporting related to Sales, Field Operations, Enterprise Risk Management or any ad hoc reporting needs of the company.
Conducts quantitative research projects by identifying the business problem, conducting data exploration, modelling analysis and communication of final results to Enterprise Risk Management leadership and other interested parties.
Works with business partners during model development to understand all aspects of the business, from understanding business issues/ priorities to analytically solving these business issues/ priorities.
Develops and implements scorecards/data driven predictive models covering different areas of the company including Enterprise Risk Management, Marketing, Sales and Field Operations, among others, monitoring business trends, assessing patterns and bringing issues to the attention of the appropriate functional groups.
Requirements
Education•A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Banking/Economics/Accounting or other equivalent financial qualification.

Experience •At least 4 years post qualification analytics experience in a related field preferably in a financial institute.

Knowledge•Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
•Good knowledge of Asset and Sales Financing products and operations
•Knowledge of credit policies and standards and lending and lending policies and procedures.
•Must be able to understand financial data (Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Financial Ratios, etc.) and apply those skills as they pertain to the loan underwriting process.
