We are looking for a 2nd or 3rd year part-time LLB student to fulfil the role of a full-time Legal Intern in order to gain practical exposure to Property Law and conveyancing related aspects with the aim of ultimately becoming a conveyancing attorney at a law firm.

The primary function of the role will require the incumbent to assist in the day-to-day administration and management of an active transferring department within an established Property Management Company.

The secondary function of the role will require the incumbent to attend after hours Board Meetings for minute taking purposes and to carry out any action items following the meetings.

The subsidiary function of the role will require the incumbent to assist the Legal and Compliance Officer with legal research and drafting of legal opinions.

The skill sets required for the position include the following:

  • An excellent working knowledge of all the relevant sectional title legislation.
  • A desire to learn more about Property Law and Sectional Title SchemeManagement.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure with good time management skills.
  • Good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Effective problem solving skills and an ability to show initiative.
  • Own transport essential.
  • Prepared to work extended hours and occasionally attend after hours meetings.
  • Good minute taking and timeous delivery thereof.
  • Good team work ethics, people skills and a positive attitude.

Salary is commensurate with work and educational experience.

The Internship shall endure for a minimum period of 1 year and a maximum period of 2 years depending on the incumbent’s educational responsibilities.

Location: Western Cape.
