Purpose: The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining customers network & telephony solutions as well as the company’s network infrastructure. This includes configuring and troubleshooting network equipment and IP devices such as IP phones, routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as monitoring and optimizing network performance.

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng

Travel Required: Yes

Working hours: 7:30am to 17:00pm and over time when needed

Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience with SIP, IP PBX & Networking.
Must be able to work independently and not have to be micromanaged.
Must reside in Johannesburg (Westrand, South or North of JHB no candidates from the
East Rand will be considered)

Must have matric certificate and all telecoms and networking certifications available.
Must have own reliable car and smart phone.

Key Responsibilities:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining customers network & telephony solutions as
well as the company’s network infrastructure.
Configuring and troubleshooting network equipment and IP devices such as IP phones,
routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as monitoring and optimizing network
performance.
Monitor and optimize network & Telephony performance to ensure maximum uptime
and efficiency.
Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network &
Telephony infrastructure with other systems.
Stay up-to-date with the latest network & Telephony technology trends to recommend
and implement improvements.
Attending to all technical activities on-site, remote or telephonic.
Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.
Making appropriate recommendations, briefing on repairs, diagnostics, equipment specifications and Produce detailed service reports.
Attending site surveys and providing accurate & detailed site survey reports.
Manage all on-site installation, configurations, setup and training of all relevant systems, hardware, services and testing the system to ensure proper documentation of all related
processes.

Closure of all callouts and submission of accurate and complete job cards.
Responsible for following all company policies and procedures as well as ensuring all company owned property and equipment is maintained and kept in working order and is always kept safe.

Desired Experience & Qualification:
Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in network engineering.
Strong knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion
detection systems.

Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure.
CCNA or CCNP certification.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadline.
