Assistant Retail Manager


Reporting Relationship

Direct report to Retail Manager


Principle Objectives

 The Assistant Manager will work in conjunction with the Retail Manager to maintain the effective operation of the location. They will also motivate the team to achieve sales and productivity goals.


Ensures Customer and Market Growth

 Customer Service

•  Display excellent customer service skills to the team.

•  Quickly and effectively resolve customer issues.

In-store Supervision & Sales Responsibilities

•  Ensure highest levels of customer service are provided by staff, which will result in  increased productivity.

•  Perform opening and closing procedures, i.e opening cash counts, closing deposits, shift  management, accordance with company policies.

•  Couch, train, motivate and lead by example in sales, application technique and image.

•  Communicate effectively with the Retail Manager, staff, the store and partners.

•  Serve as a resource for general product knowledge to all customers and staff members.


Manages Operational effectiveness

Managerial Support

•  Track retail sales against goals using the system provided.

•  Assist as directed by the Retail Manager or Marketing Department.

•  Utilise and maintain customer database for phone calls, product launches, events and appointments.

•  Assist in the preparation and completion of accurate physical inventory cycle count as requested.

•  Follow and implement all corporate visual presentation standards and guidelines.

•  Assist in the flow of merchandise from stock areas to the selling floor in a timely and organized manner.

•  Display good time management and effectively prioritise.

•  Ensure the smooth running of the counter when the Retail Manager is not present.

Inventory Maintenance

•  Ensure all stock holding areas are tidy, levels are appropriate and stock is properly rotated.

•  Perform other duties as required.


Improves Business Processes

Enforcement of Company Policies & Maintenance of Standards:

•  Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

•  Provide direction and give feedback to store management regarding staff performance.


Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

•  Full, unrestricted Drivers license
