Reporting to the Group General Manager Wines in Primary Production, your key performance areas will include, but not limited to:
Key Performance Areas would include (but are not limited to):
• Provide a plant engineering service to the wine group, which will include five cellars
• Ensure that world class asset care and maintenance principles are adhered to
• Deliver maintenance service, technical advice and consultation (including problem solving)
• Giving advice regarding general production principles
• Equipment overhauls, modifications and upgrades
• Preparing quotations for the required parts or installations
• Coordinating installation of equipment
• Carrying out machine maintenance audits as required
• Compiling audit reports with recommendations
• Managing in-house improvement projects
• Managing allocated capex and maintenance projects
• Assisting with planning and control of major shutdowns
• Ensuring all equipment and installations comply to the requirements of the OHS Act and relevant regulations
• Assist the Risk Department in ensuring compliance to the requirements of the OHS Act and Construction regulations
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
• Relevant engineering qualification (B Eng/B Tech Mech) (essential)
• A Government Certificate of Competency (essential)
• Good knowledge of Engineering standards
• Exposure to world-class manufacturing and engineering practices in the FMCG industry (highly desirable)
• At least 5 – 8 years maintenance and project management experience, preferably in a beverage- or related production environment
• At least 3 years managerial experience
• Computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office, SAP PM, etc)
• Strong administration skills
• Automation and Control experience would be advantageous
• Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial- and statistical data
• Sound written & verbal communication skills with all levels of personnel
• Ability to work independently and meet demanding deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure & handle conflict
• An action & self-driven, motivated person with strong numerical aptitude
• Goal & Service orientated strong team player
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Sound leadership skills
• Willingness to work outside of normal working hours
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
