Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health (MatCH) is a division of the Wits Health Consortium under the School of Public Health of the University of the Witwatersrand. Through the Unfinished Business Project, MatCH implements the Strengthening of District Responses for Better HIV/TB Outcomes in eThekwini District and Msunduze sub-district in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

The project focuses on providing technical assistance and direct service delivery to support efficient monitoring and evaluation of the Paediatric and Adolescent HIV Care and Treatment programme.

Job Title: Project Manager M&E: Child Health and Adolescents x1 (Ref 1337)

Job Location:  KwaZulu-Natal Province
in eThekwini district

Main Purpose of the Job
To support the management of MatCH’s Monitoring and Evaluation activities. The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of monitoring and evaluation including implementation plans, overseeing staff, data quality, drafting and updating M&E plans, reviewing data, reporting and operations research. This position will also provide logistics and planning support to the clinical teams. The incumbent will also liaise with internal and external stakeholders and support capacity building activities for data management and M&E for the DOH and MatCH staff with a focus on data utilization.

Key Performance Areas
Oversee project M&E activities
Project planning
Data analysis and utilization
Conduct quality assurance and improve the quality of data
Training and capacity building for M&E team and clinical staff
Provide technical support to District DOH and Provincial DOH on M&E and data utilization
Staff management
Effective self-management and performance ownership

Required minimum education and training
Relevant Degree or diploma (preferably Master’s level)
Excellent communication and supervisory skills
MER Framework development
Ability to handle a varied, busy and pressurized work load
Drivers licence

Minimum work experience
4 years’ experience in M&E/Research
Previous management, training and mentoring of staff

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
Data management & analysis software
M&E training
