Job Title: Satellite Worker
Job Location: Cape Town

The purpose of the position is to oversee Message mission outreach in the Paarl Valley.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate our Message Enterprise Programme (MEP) in Drakenstein youth prison
• Facilitate MEP reintegration programmes and workshops in prisons in the Paarl Valley
• Facilitate school’s programmes in partnership with Valcare members and local churches
• Raise up volunteers and a support team to assist in mission’s delivery
• Be available to represent The Message Trust at network meetings relevant to mission’s delivery in the Paarl Valley

Financial responsibility

• Help raise finance and awareness to support missions work in the Paarl Valley
• Seek out and secure funding opportunities consistent with the goals of the Missions department

Other Expectations

• Submit monthly written report to Message Trust and Valcare Trust
• Attendance at weekly Tuesday Message devotions
• Attendance at weekly Mission team meetings
• Attendance at prayer days in Message HQ on a monthly basis
• Participate in Message Sunday’s – sharing stories of gospel transformation
• Network with other mission ministries in the Paarl Valley

Requirements:

• Clear strategic vision for Paarl Valley
• Experience working with young people in prison and gangsterism
• Energy and business acumen, innovation and entrepreneurial skills
• Leadership, team-building, motivational and staff management skills
• Networking, influencing / promotional and negotiating skills
• Ability to develop and sustain public and voluntary sector partnerships
• Strong self-motivation
• A “hands-on” attitude, ability to roll-up sleeves and pitch-in with practical task delivery
• Be experienced in working with youth at risk in prisons, schools and communities and is passionate about sharing the Christian faith
