The Communications & Media (C &M) Lead is responsible for leadership of the Communications Sector (CS) business in the Area. This includes driving revenue and ensuring customer and partner satisfaction and loyalty across CS accounts within the Area, as well as identifying and developing strategic alliances and partnerships with leading communications companies. Manages the CS sales team in a matrixed environment to carry out the strategic and tactical objectives. Builds and executes the plan for resource allocation (people and dollars) in accordance with the sales model and strategy. Ensures coordination and collaboration at the Area, global and corporate levels to achieve the growth, revenue and customer satisfaction objectives.
Execute a Business Strategy that continually grows and expands the opportunity and potential of the business.
# Within the overall CS strategy, establish an Area strategy from business insight and application of company assets and value to create a localized competitive strategy and to aggressively grow the market
# Add timely and relevant information and critical thinking to the broader strategic-planning process; increase global business knowledge year over year
# Champion CS strategy through multiple levels of management within MS in the Area
# Demonstrate sound judgment and appropriate conviction in the face of adversity
# Push back as needed; support decisions when appropriate, and provide context for others
# Demonstrate a high self-awareness of leadership role and act as a role model for Microsoft values
Provide People Leadership that provides the capability to expand the opportunity and potential of the business.
# Be a talent leader who can spot, attract and grow talent in the organization; has a track record for consistently importing and exporting talent across Microsoft, and ensures an effective leadership pipeline and succession capability
# Continue to build sales excellence talent in the workforce
# Be a recognized market sales leader who is sought after to represent the company publically, which results in improved perception of Microsoft in market and thereby attracting talent
# Achieve results that reflect the diversity of management team work styles and backgrounds
# Produce and articulate a change agenda; hold direct reports accountable for change management
10+ years of related experience
Sales and partner management, complex sales training (e.g., Miller Hyman, Spin, Michael Bosworth, Holden , etc.), sales methodologies (equivalent to MSSP), broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), effective marketing tactics, negotiation, financial analysis, Line of Business applications space, business process consulting or automation, CRM (Siebel or other), Employee Performance Management (systems and processes)
