The position of System Administrator’s primary responsibility is maintaining and securing Windows servers and Microsoft 365 service. The role will include troubleshooting of system and server related issues and execution of documented operational and maintenance procedures.
•Maintain server infrastructure
•Configure and deploy new Windows servers
•Create and maintain secure server images using CIS benchmarks and build kits
•Monitor performance, availability and stability of servers to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime
•Review, document and implement server security controls
•Create scripts to automate server management tasks
•Maintain Active Directory servers and services
•Maintain and optimise Group Policy Objects
Microsoft 365 management:
•Maintain Milpark M365 Tenants
•Maintain & improve security/compliance policies
•Manage users, licenses, groups & features
•Ensure physical security of IT infrastructure
•Oversee the procurement, receipt and configuration of new hardware and software
•Monitor logs and troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise
•Ensure proper management of IT assets
•Assist with new infrastructure projects as and when required
•Monitor backup processes to ensure recoverability according to the disaster recovery plan
•Assist with design and implementation of infrastructure enhancements
•Actively participate and contribute during security incident response.
•Assist and keep the Technical Manager updated on all system and network related initiatives and issues
•Provide after-hours support as/when required
•Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
•Document relevant processes and procedures
•Adhere to change control and project management procedures
•Ensure knowledge of hardware and software used by Milpark is kept up to date
•Perform tasks accurately and efficiently
•Follow and implement Milpark processes
•Ensure confidentiality of information is maintained
•Make infrastructure, server and data security a priority
Education & Experience Requirements
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree
•Thorough understanding of Microsoft server technologies, certification will be an advantage
•Ability to script in Powershell and other Microsoft scripting languages
•In depth knowledge of Active Directory
•In depth knowledge of Microsoft365 services
•Knowledge of patch management tools (WSUS, SCCM)
•Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP and SMTP
•Cybersecurity experience will be an advantage
