Murray & Roberts Power & Energy invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Rigging Foreman for the Kusile Project reporting to the Rigging Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Kusile Power Station to be erected at the Kusile Site at Witbank, Mpumulanga, South Africa. Preference will be given to suitably qualified EE candidates

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Oversee and be responsible to assist in all rigging activities on the Kusile site
Ensure high standards of safety and quality are adhered to.
Assist the Rigging Manager in day to day allocation of the cranes.
Must be able to work unsupervised and assist the crane drivers with crane charts etc.
Must report all deviations from the scope of work timeously in writing to the construction manager.
Ensure all rigging equipment is checked regularly (daily, monthly, quarterly) according to the act and ensure equipment is in a safe working order.

Key Requirements

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

Qualified artisan with 5 – 6 years or experience in rigging and the use of cranes and be able to a team of crane drivers .
.Another advantage would be to have previous experience in this type of position on a similar project.
Must be able to read crane charts and assist in rigging studies.

Education Suitable candidates must possess a combination of the following minimum qualifications and skills:
