Mining Shift Supervisor Production

Minimum Education Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification, , Blasting certificate, First aid certificate

Additional Education Requirements: Shift Supervisor certificate of competence
Years of Experience: 3-5 years

Skills Required:
Relevant computer skills (MS Office & SAP)
Basic report writing skills
Working knowledge of relevant legislation

Position Summary:
The SUPERVISOR PRODUCTION is accountable for planning,
coordinating, leading and controlling resources within the specific
mining section to ensure safe and optimum production of the specific
section within the shaft. The role holder will carry a legal
appointment applicable to the role.
At least 3 years experience as a miner (inclusive of excellent
safety and production results)

Acting exposure as a Shift Supervisor will be advantageous

Platinum mining experience will be advantageous.

Job Requirements:
Conducts and coordinates regular safety meetings
Conducts daily underground safety audits and ensure that necessary actions are taken
Follow-up on previous audits findings
Conducts daily planned task observations (PTOs)
Conducts accidents and incidents investigations and implement necessary precautions to avoid re-occurrence
Ensuring achievement of sustainable production targets through planning, leading, organizing and controlling.
Planning of the life of the section within his area of responsibility.
Reporting on daily section performance
Ordering of materials and equipment
Ensure proper maintenance of equipment
Ensure that materials and equipment are used for the purpose designed for.
Re-claim and re-use previously used equipment
Implement systems and ensure compliance with audits
Implement business improvement projects/ initiatives
