MPESA is an innovative mobile money solution which has already seen enormous success in other African markets, as well as in Afghanistan; enabling even unbanked customers to transfer money from person to person using a cell phone
MPESA is a service under the financial services umbrella of products that allows Vodacom Customers to transfer money using their mobile phone. MPESA is available to all Vodacom subscribers (Prepaid and Contract), even if they do not have a bank account. Registration is FREE and available at any MPESA participating outlet in South Africa
The job holder will be responsible for delivering all Vodacom Financial services products with the key product being Mpesa. MPESA customer and revenue targets through effective management of the MPESA distribution network with the support of the sales and operational resources in the region
Deliver revenue for Financial Services products
Deliver revenue for through agent related transactions in the assigned region
Create targets for each agent outlet in terms of both consumer recruitment & financial transactions in the assigned region
Identify gaps in MPESA coverage & recruit suitable outlets
Operational management of the MPESA distribution network
Initial set-up of acquired outlets as functional MPESA Outlets
Provide feedback and propose improvements on the Outlets user experience
Training agent staff according to the laid down procedures and guidelines
Efficiently manage point-of-sale & merchandise material to be effectively used for branding in Outlets
Manage sales staff in the region and contract sales force against their set targets
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operational & management reports on revenue and planned activities
Manage Human Resources
Manage Business Performance
Matric (Grade 12)
3 year tertiary qualification (Commerce, Finance, Business Management, Marketing or Project Management)
Should your qualification be/require SAQA accredited/accreditation, certified proof will be requested.
The onus is on the applicant to provide / acquire proof.
Minimum 5 years sales experience (preferably in retail & emerging markets banking)
Financial experience will be an advantage.
People Management experience will be an added advantage.
Valid South African Driver’s license
Travel to various rural areas and townships is an essential requirement
