Department Description
The Digital Product Specialist serves to ensure that the Company is a leader in the relevant market by having a well managed product portfolio which meets the demands of the relevant market segment. This is achieved through effectively managing and bundling services through the product lifecycle. The position carries the life cycle enhancements and sales responsibility for the company’s existing and new product portfolio and ensuring that each product performs against the business plan.
Brief Description
Operational Planning/ Processes
· Work through Product Developers and Solutions to identify and plan new opportunities;
· Manage each Product through its Lifecycle, by:
o Analysing and amending financial models for existing and new services;
o Ongoing measuring of services against the business plan;
o Migration of customer from “old” product to the “new” product;
o Manage the margin of the product within the agreed DOA;
Competitive (local and global) benchmarking;
Analyse product value chains;
· Work with the Financial Modelling department to understand the underlying CoS and other costs components to maintain the costing model and identify new ways in which the margin could be improved;
· Ensure that all appropriate processes for the smooth management of the product;
· Train and assist the Company in the sale of the product;
· Work with the other marketing functions to execute the ’go-to-market’ strategy for each product and markets;
· Propose and implement special promotional campaigns on targeted products;
· Ensure that all marketing co-lateral is developed and maintained for each product to assist in the marketing and sale of the product line;
Pricing / Tariff management (optimal profitability mix management);
Adding new products, removing obsolete and discontinued products;
Management of product revenue targets;
Auditing processes and documentation preparations, by maintaining a daily system of recording and administration to ensure auditing can be done by the financial department at all and any times;
Review and provide input to policies & procedures, making recommendations as necessary;
Resolve complaints and escalate queries with regards;
Establish and maintain quality standards that will enhance the customer experience and cost efficiency;
Work consistently according to standard operating procedures;
Reporting; and
Vendor / Supplier management.
Detailed Description
Job Requirements
· 3 year Degree / Diploma in Commerce (Marketing / Communication) or related
Global Experience Standards (10)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a area of specialisation; with experience in supervising others
• Experience working in a medium organization
