The Mudita Foundation Current Job Opportunity

The Mudita Foundation is a research-based outpatient treatment programme for substance use problems (problems with alcohol and drugs). The Foundation service learners/young patients who wish to get control of risky drug use and/or risky drinking behaviours. Mudita Foundation does this on school premises and are currently operational at three different high schools in disadvantaged areas in Eerste River and Somerset West, as well as from our new office in Stellenbosch where we will also offer treatment to adults.

Job Title: Social Worker
Job Location:  Stellenbosch
Salary: R15 636 per month
Start date: 2 July 2018

This is a full time position

Responsibilities:

• A registered social worker to render the minimum services for calculation of:
  • Conduct the intake
  • Screen the service user for risky substance use
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment and ensure the development of comprehensive individual development plan/ treatment plan in consultation with the service user
  • Ensure that there is adequate recording and group intervention on a centralised casefile system

Requirements:

• Registered with SACSSP/ one to two years’ experience as a social worker
• Drivers licence with own transport
• Computer literacy Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to speak at least two of South-Africa’s official languages (English compulsory)
• Ability to do referrals to relevant resources
• Ability to work in a high-pressured environment
• People skills
• Neat and professional
• Passionate and hardworking
• Ability to work well in a team
• Need to have a flare for fundraising activities
• Previous experience working in schools and working with high school learners will be to your advantage
