Special Requirements
MultiChoice Group Finance is currently looking for a Group BBBEE Manager who will report to the Group CFO and will be based at the Randburg Head Office. The main purpose of this position is to achieve the budgeted / forecasted group BBBEE level status and group Enterprise Development score.

Job Outputs

  • Responsible for co-ordinating the execution and reporting of Group BBBEE components both internally within Group and externally with BBBEE verification auditors in finalising the Group’s BBBEE level status by:
  • Maintaining relationship with BBBEE verification auditors and where required, involving them in critical ED projects upfront to ensure full compliance can be achieved.
  • Running adhoc workshops, when required, to highlight deficiencies in BBBEE scores and recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Mobilising BBBEE team at year-end (both internally and externally) to communicate information required and deadline dates ensuring that risks to achieving targets are identified and escalated early enough to be corrected.
  • Responsible for the Group Enterprise Development function from identification of ED opportunities through to implementation and responsible for reporting of Group Enterprise Development projects on a quarterly basis to the MultiChoice Enterprise Development Trustees by:
  • Participation in business unit ED sub-committees to enable identification of potential ED projects
  • Utilising, where required, the support function of Enterprise Room particularly for any questions on BBBEE legislation , access to small business specialists as supporting ED role for projects and any ED projects with a particular emphasis on TV production.
  • Enterprise Development strategy for each entity in the Group making direct contributions to the MultiChoice Enterprise Development Trust.
  • Contribution Agreements between each entity contributing and the MultiChoice Enterprise Development Trust.

Keeping updated of all changes to BBBEE legislation and analysing and communicating the impact of these changes to affected parties by:

  • Liaising with Regulatory , where required, in preparing Group written submissions to changes to BBBEE legislation.
  • Utilising, where required, the support function of Enterprise Room particularly for any questions on BBBEE legislation.
  • Adhoc projects – board slides on BBBEE, impact analysis requests of changes that BBBEE legislation will have on forecast BBBEE score, ED score, SED score, forecast Group BBBEE scorecard etc.

Develop relationships with senior management in Group to assist in ensuring that

a) they are kept updated of proposed changes to BBBEE legislation and

b) provides forum for sharing best practices regarding implementation of various BBBEE projects by:

  • Running adhoc workshops, when required, to highlight deficiencies in BBBEE scores and recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Regular communication with senior management at business units to ensure that you become the first port of call for any BBBEE queries, project referrals.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum qualification CA (SA)
  • 5 – 10 years post articles experience
  • Experience in BBBEE an advantage but not a requirement
  • Has comfortably operated in a high pressure, deadline orientated position
  • Good communication skills required in liaising with senior management at various business units
  • Passionate about achieving transformation beyond a pure compliance approach

Competencies Technical:

  • Extensive knowledge as well as a disciplined and detailed approach to the implementation and execution of BBBEE projects
  • Knowledge of the DTI BBBEE generic Codes as well as the ICT Sector Codes
  • Detailed and disciplined approach to the implementation of ED projects
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Good relationship builder who can make use of relationships throughout the Group
