The MWEB WiFi division in Cape Town has a vacancy for an Account Manager, who reporting to the Business Development Manager, will handle the end-to-end connectivity needs of a set of regional key accounts; ensure achievement of targets by managing, co-ordinating and expanding a regional business development pipeline. Provide feedback to and from specialist departments to inform product, pricing and programme development. Be responsible for sourcing new business and managing client relationships. This position consists of 60% relationship building (farming business) and 40% hunting for new business.

 
Duties & Responsibilities

Generating new business with a focus on marketing, VAS on ISP products, sales and bringing in new contracts
• Identifying and developing new leads from new and existing accounts, co-ordinating initial meetings, reviewing customer requirements, identifying customer objectives for designing solutions
• Ensuring preparation of product specification and project initiation
• Maintaining accurate forecast and activity lists/reports
• Handling daily customer management operations and provides timely resolution for customer issues and complaints
• Achieving sales/revenue targets
• Ensuring related administration processes are completed accurately and timeously
• Accurate formulation and coordination of proposals
• Fostering relationship building with internal and external clients

 

Required Skills

• Ownership – able to take responsibility, troubleshoot problems and be proactive
• Team player and ability to work under pressure
• Good communication skills and the ability to work at executive levels
• Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are essential
• Ability to present at an executive level

 
Qualifications and experience required

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in ISP sales, account management and relationship building
• Proven track record in target achievement and closing large, solution value contracts
• Experience in tender responses and record of presenting proposals at an executive level
• In-depth knowledge of the ISP industry
• Matric and 3-4 year Business, IT or telecommunications degree/diploma advantageous
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
