NACOSA is a network of community organisations working together to turn the tide on HIV, AIDS, TB and gender-based violence (GBV) in Southern Africa. Our programmes work to reduce the impact of HIV, AIDS, TB and GBV and contribute to the global strategy to bring about the end of AIDS by 2030. In line with South Africa’s National Strategic Plan and UNAIDS’ 90-90-90 Fast Track targets, NACOSA focuses on young women and girls, sex workers, people who inject drugs, those most affected by gender-based violence, children and youth, and other vulnerable and key populations.
We are looking for a creative, organized and engaged Communications Officer to help us communicate our key messages with our target audience who are primarily young women.

Job Summary:
Duties and Responsibilities
•Collaborate with the Head of Communications, internal teams and partners on marketing and communications campaigns and strategy.
•Providing administrative support for the production of communications materials including information and education materials, merchandise, video, audio and social media campaigns.
•Sourcing and maintaining relationships with service providers and other partners.
•Sourcing, drafting and collating content (case studies, interviews, photographs, video) for use across all NACOSA’s communications channels.
•Developing, implementing and measuring social media content on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube in collaboration with our Digital Strategist Consultant.
•Monitoring media for marketing and communications opportunities for NACOSA and conduct social listening to inform programme implementation.
•Supporting communications and advocacy with the NACOSA network
•Supporting Human Resources with internal communications
Requirements

Skills and qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field
•3 – 5 years’ experience in communications, marketing and/or public relations
•Excellent written (copywriting) and spoken communication skills
•Knowledge of and experience with digital communications
•Knowledge of Photoshop and the WordPress content management system would be an advantage
•Advanced Word and Powerpoint skills and competent in Excel
•Excellent organisational and time management skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels
•Creative, solutions-oriented, self-motivated
•Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
•Willing to travel occasionally
•Experience of health and behavior change communications and messaging would be an advantage.
