At Nedbank we believe that Great Things begin with Great People and, as a result, we strive to attract and retain South Africa’s top graduates to build the future leadership and specialist pipelines of our organisation that allow us to remain competitive.
It is with this in mind that we have embarked on a journey of establishing a graduate flagship programme.
But what does this mean and how does it differ from what we have offered our graduates in the past?
Well, for the first time in Nedbank’s history we are offering graduates the opportunity to choose their career from the very start. So, whether you are interested in beginning your career journey in specialist fields such as accounting, risk, information technology, investment banking or quantitative analysis or would rather first explore other areas in banking to become a well-rounded manager … your ambition has our attention.
With our graduate flagship programme we are in a position to offer you the above alternatives.
The journey kicks off with a super induction that provides graduates with in depth insight into the world of banking and how large organisations are structured to work together as a unit. You are then given the opportunity to embark on a learning journey in a specialised field, or to participate in a rotational programme that allows you to gain exposure within various areas of the bank during the first year. This will enable you to gain valuable experience that will stand you in good stead should you wish to move into a managerial position in future.
Nedbank has a proud culture of continuous learning and development. The blended learning approaches we offer will demand that you apply your learning practically in your day-to-day work activities. Learning will focus on developing personal mastery, technical competence and business competence as well as social responsibility.
Nedbank is a caring bank that aspires to become a Great Place to Work for all its employees. Through ourCoaching For Growth programme, graduates will have access to professional coaches who are there to assist in enhancing their overall capacity. In addition, development assessments and debriefing sessions will be designed to allow you the opportunity to reflect on your learning and performance in the workplace to allow you to remain motivated and to sustain you on the programme.
We at the Nedbank Graduate Programme are excited to be in a position to offer such a meaningful journey to our graduates and we are confident that, together, we can Make Things Happen.
