New Media Publishing is seeking to appoint a brand assistant on their two food brands â€“ comprising of websites, e-newsletters, award-winning annual directories, a collection of supplements and digital magazines, as well as South Africa’s premier restaurant and food awards. The position is based in Cape Town, with the appointee reporting to the brand director.
This is the ideal starter position for someone wanting to get into marketing in the area of food and lifestyle.
The ideal candidate is flexible, good with numbers, success orientated, and has a â€œcan doâ€-attitude. This role will be demanding for the next 6 months and requires a willingness from the candidate to participate after hours when the need arises. It includes assistance on events, liaising with clients, sponsorship administration, creating presentations, market research and reporting, and many daily administrative tasks required on the brands.
Essential skills and experiences
A diploma or degree in marketing/branding/communications;
Excellent organisational abilities;
High level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Strong telephone and communication skills;
An interest in e-marketing;
The willingness to be a team player;
The ability to work under pressure;
The experience will fast track this person in the field of marketing.
The contract will run for 6 months starting immediately.
