JOB PURPOSE
To manage the internal operations and resources within the function to ensure effective service delivery aligned to strategic objectives of the division and SARS. Operational Manager is accountable for managing the day-to-day operations of a unit or team as dictated by the Tactical & Operations plan, stating very specific objectives, KPI’S (deliverables) with set targets.

 
Duties
To ensure and effective and efficient Team by managing, caoching, disciplining and developing Team Members.
To ensure Team Members operate within the boundaries of applicable Legislation, Policies, procedures and accepted Practices.
To keep Team Members abreast of relevant Policies and Procedures, Legislation and relevant changes and perform the necessary training.
To ensure the fair distribution of work by allocating tasks according to Team Member abilities and Operational needs.
To put into practice continuous improvements and shorter turnaround times which meet the needs in terms of the Service Level Agreements with Stakeholders.
To ensure Performance Targets are met by implementing Performance Management.
To ensure compliance within budget parameters for the Team.
To resolve or manage the resolution of complex cases and make recommendations
To ensure accurate drafting and provision of both standard and ad-hoc reports to Management as agreed upon and/or when required by Business.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF Qualification
Mathematics and /or Business Economics / Economics, Accounting
Relevant Bachelor of Commerce degree or NQF equivalent Tertiary Qualification
Relevant to the specific environment for eg. Accounting / Taxation / Auditing / Statistical Analysis

Ability

Experience
3 – 5 years experience within relevant disciplines
8 – 10 years work experience within relevant disciplines

Knowledge
Relevant Legislation (ie Income Tax Act 1962)
Taxation (PIT;CIT,VAT,PAYE, etc.)
SARS Policies, Procedures (SOP’s)
Corporate Governance
