This senior role operates as the Technology & Operations leader for the Africa leadership team and key stakeholders. Its co-reports to and is accountable to both the Director of Business Partnering Education and Managing Director Africa. The role is accountable for representing both Technology and Operations CoE’s (Centre of Excellence’s) to the Africa MD’s and their Senior Leadership Teams.

Job Summary:
Representing the Voice of the Customer to Technology & Operations teams, aligning the strategic and market needs of the Africa business with Ops & IT budgets, plans and globally aligned deliverables.

Effective leadership, planning, co-ordination & implementation of strategic ‘Change’ programmes from across Technology & Operations into the Divisional business. Ensuring Business needs are met, change is fully adopted, and benefits are realised.

Responsible for ensuring the overall ‘Run’ service delivery across the Technology and Operations environment is achieving its core KPI’s and meeting user needs. Highlight areas not just for issue remediation but for continual improvement.

Effective communication to the MD and their teams on the ‘Run’ environment and ‘Change’ programmes status through qualitative and quantitative data in a regular and consistent manner. Able to bring technology to life and articulate the benefits of change programmes in a manner that stakeholders can engage with.

Response for maximizing customer satisfaction by ensuring that Technology & Operations execution is aligned in the delivery of services to both our internal and external customers; ensuring the rapid response to issues and root cause analysis are effectively managed and resolved. Ensuring that user feedback reaches key Technology and Operations service owners.

Working in partnership with Technology and Operations CoE’s in order to develop and present robust business solutions to Divisional MD’s & their teams; that improve margins through “business- as-usual” delivery, optimization, innovation and new service offerings. Ensure that solutions are articulated in a way that engages business stakeholders and aligns to their priorities.

Aligning the Technology & Operations financials, SLA’s, KPI’s and projects with the Divisional MD’s & their team’s needs.

Lead by example in driving culture movement to process excellence, resource optimization and innovation.

Participate in the development of the Operations and Technology strategic roadmap and annual business planning cycle. Ensure that business demand is clearly articulated and captured and its benefit and priority understood. Act as an honest broker in demand prioritization representing business demand but also roadmap constraints.

A critical first step for this role will be to implement the operating model (including solid and dotted reporting lines and the appropriate matrix management).

Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:

At least a degree in a relevant discipline (preferable)
Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a global environment with multiple executive stakeholders
Strategy planning, enterprise portfolio development and management
Shaping, advising on and realising benefits of global transformation programmes
A proven ability to deliver business benefits through projects/programmes and a strong track record of embedding
change in an effective manner
Experience in delivery, tracking and reporting to senior executive’s complex delivery portfolio
