The incumbent will be responsible to create detailed project plans and ensure that teams follow the activities outlined in the plans to deliver projects scheduled and within budget and assist the Project Engineer to improve performance and efficiency by identifying and evaluating risks that can derail project delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Estimating the projects timeline through all project phases.
- Generating project S-curves on major projects to reflect forecasting and project status.
- Monitoring project progress and update relevant plans and schedules accordingly.
- Overseeing schedules and risk management plans and provide serious deviations warnings hindering project results.
- Reports on deviations to the original project plan that can lead to serious delays and budget overruns.
- Preparing and presenting internal and external project reports for stakeholders.
- Providing comprehensive project data to teams to help them work effectively.
- Collaborating with teams and other stakeholders on short and long-term plans for resource allocation and work scheduling.
- Identifying key variances within projects and presentation of effective and compelling data in support of findings.
- Assisting the project engineer to improve performance and efficiency.
- Determining internal resource levels and external contractors required for effective project execution, design, and commissioning.
- Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, and Contractors to accelerate progress and ensure workflow is aligned with PMC requirements.
- Overseeing construction and commissioning planning by consolidating contractor plans with plan input.
- Providing feedback and liaise with clients with regard to the progress or potential delays of projects.
- Maintaining and improving safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
- Performing fair and reasonable tasks related to the job at the discretion of the Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:
- N4/National Diploma or B-Tech in Engineering studies.
- Project Management Qualification will be advantageous.
- 5 years planning and scheduling experience in mining or heavy industrial project environment.
- Computer skills: Advance MS Projects, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
- Valid Driver’s license.
