Parts purchasing and Procurement Specialist Position – Commercial Vehicles
Based in Midrand
A major player in the global transport world and an international leader in the development, manufacture, marketing and servicing of a vast range of medium, heavy and extra heavy commercial vehicles is seeking to employ a experienced incumbent who has the ability to do basic coaching and on-the-job training and many other things based on parts purchasing and procurement.

The successful candidate must have:
• Matric
• Inventory Management Diploma
• 3-5 years Automotive experience
• Technical background would be advantageous
• Experience with Parts Purchasing-local and overseas
• Good Planning and Stock control abilities
• Knowledge of Remanufactured components

Main Purpose of the job:
• Local Parts Procurement
• Overseas Parts Procurement
• Back order refill for all company suppliers
• Company systems inbound data integrity
• Refill of company Parts Distribution Centre
• Follow-up on outstanding inbound shipments

Key result areas are as follows:
• Parts Procurement Local
Use Purchase proposal created in operating system and expedite inbound orders

• Dealer Back orders
Review daily dealer back orders and procure from suppliers
Please orders on supplier systems
Track and expedite dealer back orders

• VOR Log
Manage local VOR log for parts
Order on suppliers
Provide ETA

• Refill of PDC
Maintain communication links with central Italy refill department
Communicate new model launches, campaigns, excess demands and old vehicle demands
Identify and communicate potential stock outs
Identify and communicate local challenges and provide solution

• Inbound Shipment
Manage all inbound shipments, by expediting and creating a working data base

• Database
Manage all procurement data in operating system

• Customer satisfaction-focused
• Problem solving skills, especially in inbound logistics
• Good telephone etiquette
• Able to perform under pressure
• Able to identify parts and interpret technical drawings
• Experience with report-writing
• Manage self-development
• Ability to do basic coaching and on-the-job training
• Computer Literate especially in MS Office
