Role Responsibilities:
Being part of a documentation team responsible for producing high quality product technical documents. These include printable and online documentation, involving writing new documentation and online Help for products being developed, as well as maintenance of current software User and Technical Manuals, online Help and Installation Guides and translated versions of the product.
Working closely with analysts, designers, developers, testers and other Documentation Writers to deliver high quality documents to a specified timescale.
Taking complex technical information and communicating it in a lucid, concise and accurate manner.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English, Communication, or similarly related field) is preferred

Relevant Skills / Experience:
2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Excellent command of the English language – strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to create, assimilate and convey technical material that may be intended for use by both technical and non-technical audiences
Create, update and maintain user documentation for assigned products
Assemble and deliver finalised documentation to various release channels
Apply agreed documentation standards, styles and processes when preparing user documentation
Ability to visually display information and format, and present images as part of effective content design
Experience using document editing software (e.g. Oxygen XML Editor, MS Office)
Experience with screen capture software (e.g. SnagIT)
Exposure to Wiki usage
Editing and proof-reading experience
Ability to manage personal documentation environment and troubleshoot builds
Contribute (where possible) to on-going documentation improvements:
Styles and standards
Authoring tools and technologies
Knowledge of documentation methods, processes and best practices
Experience in the following would be advantageous:
Telecommunications or IT background
Previous exposure to versioning systems (e.g. SVN)
Adobe Dreamweaver
Previous exposure to DocBook XML, XSL, XSLT, XSLT-FO, Apache Ant (as well as exposure to MySQL, Oracle)
Unix experience (at least basic experience in Unix, such as being able to navigate around the system) and setting up environments will be helpful
Previous exposure to documenting in an agile programming methodology
