PASA Operation Support function designs, builds, maintains and promotes good governance and support for the payments industry that contribute significantly to the safety and efficiency of the global financial system.
The key areas of responsibility entails managing the end-to-end operational value chain of the Payment Clearing House Participant Group (PCH PG) which includes:
Management Information Systems and Reporting,
Operational Management (monitor, measurement and problem solving),
PCH PG management – members meetings agendas, priorities, projects , Incident management (including business continuity), Payment Clearing House Rules and agreements (including
implementation).
Member Stakeholder Management and support.

PASA Operations also provide subject matter expertise, interaction and support to other PASA functions and areas namely: Strategy, Research, Legal, Communication and media, Risk, Registration, Project management (owner or co-owner), Business analysis, Compliance, Fraud management.

Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
To manage and lead the end-to-end value chain of the Electronic and Settlement Participant Groups by:
•Coordinate all operational management challenges in a relevant Participant Groups;
•Be accountable for the PCH PG’s governance and support;
•Ensure effective operational stakeholder management;
•Ensure the integration of all projects , agreements, rules of the PCH PG;
•Effectively liaise with Banks and Payment System Operators “PSO’s”, Users and Retailers.
•Ensure that PASA governance is maintained and endorsed during all PCH PG meetings, Steering Committee meetings, Project meetings or any other supporting structures related meetings.
•Ensure that Payment System Operator (PSO) rules, specifications where applicable is enforced in order to also ensure governance and adherence to PSO requirements

The Operations Support Officer will be responsible and accountable for the following:
•Manage and lead the PCH PG output end-to-end – (members, meetings, agenda’s, priorities, projects, agreements, rules)
•Manage Payment System Operators interfaces and understand friction points
•Provide advice and thought leadership based on thorough understanding of key payment processes, streams, instruments (current and new)
•Facilitate and guide the setting of goals and priorities for Payment Clearing House Participant Group based on end-to-end understanding of risks, challenges, opportunities and root-causes of problems
•Facilitate and guide execution of PCH PG priorities
•Project integration into PCH PG environment
•Day-to-day operational issues and incidents and finding of resolutions
•Monitoring and measurement of Payment Clearing House Participant Group (PCH PG) priorities and provide feedback against goals achievement
•Facilitate rule setting based on thorough understanding of PCH friction points
•Support PASA internal processes and deliverables aligned to the PASA Strategy
Requirements

Education and experience:
•10 years hands on experience with project support in a Payments Environment with no qualification; or
•5 years hands on experience with a relevant tertiary qualification;
•Essential: The completion of the Foundational Course in Payment Systems at PASA is a requirement.
•Matric

Knowledge:
•System / Business analysis methodologies and principles;
•System / Business analysis techniques;
•Knowledge of the National Payment System;
•Knowledge of regulatory requirements and governance in the payment sector;
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Visio, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
