Our client requires the services of a Factor Manager to manage, lead and take responsibility for project management.
Key performance areas:
- Manage relationships with internal / external customers and staff
- Align plant manufacturing strategy to the overall business strategy
- Implement new equipment / technology / processes in accordance with the manufacturing strategic plan
- Implement Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives
- Achieve targets in Safety, Health and Environmental compliance
- Plan for CAPEX / Disposal / Transfers
- Manage relationships with internal / external customers and staff
- Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
- Lead, guide and approve production plans
- Develop plant manufacturing strategies and operational plans
- Provide strategic and change leadership to the manufacturing function and teams
- Implement new equipment / technology / processes in accordance with the manufacturing strategic plan
- Achieve / exceed the annual manufacturing operational plan in accordance to set and agreed targets
- Analyse and interpret production statistics / data in order to identify opportunities for improvements
- Identify opportunities for improvements with key suppliers
- Maintain ISO 9001 accreditation
- Provide input into the budget process and monitor performance against budget (expense controls, variances, etc)
- Conduct Performance Reviews and manage sub-standard performance
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Matric with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Science or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
- An MBA or equivalent qualification would be advantageous
- 5 years of senior management experience in the Manufacturing industry
- Working knowledge of SHREQ procedures and regulations
- Must understand an income statement, balance sheet and financial ratios.
- Needs understanding of productivity and manufacturing principals to ensure good management of the production process
- Knowledge of HSE
- Working knowledge of steel classifications, metal composition and steel make-up
- Operational knowledge of ISO standards and maintaining of ISO Certification
- Good technical knowledge to ensure management of the production and maintenance department
- Must have leadership ability and communicate effectively
- Must be able to manage conflict and to negotiate
- Must be adaptable and organized
- Must have excellent time-management and financial management skills
