Kimberley Underground Mines JV is situated in the town of Kimberley in the Northern Cape. The mine consists of 3
conventional slushier drift block cave mines.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will be responsible to effectively
lead and manage the mechanical engineering function of underground mines and process plants; ensuring full
compliance with all relevant legislation and strategic business plans.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manage large multi-disciplinary teams
Enforce engineering standards and maintenance
Support business units and liaise with stake holders
Prepare and manage budgets
Ensure performance of teams
Ensure compliance to Legislation
Minimum Requirements:
Valid Trade Test certificate as Fitter and Turner
Minimum N4 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Valid drivers’ license
8 years’ experience in underground mines, vertical shafts, winders and ancillary equipment
5 years’ experience as a foreman
Construction, equipment installation and maintenance experience
DMS Plant, washing and screening plant experience
Other Skills/Competencies:
Must be able to apply RCA, RCM, ROI and NPV to align OEE with the strategic business plan
Must be performance driven, analytical and a motivator with strong assertive management skills
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
