Finsch Diamond Mine is located in the town of Lime Acres which is situated 160km north west of Kimberley and 109km south of
Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

Job Description:
Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will be required to perform all activities necessary
to accomplish the effective, safe and reliable lifting and rigging of heavy loads and maintain and inspect all rigging equipment,
winder ropes and overhead cranes in the area of responsibility.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Verify tasks and plan equipment requirements to facilitate efficient and effective job completion to lift loads and rig into position
Perform equipment/machine over-inspections and diagnose/identify problems
Maintenance and control of overhead and mobile crane ropes as and when required
Manage spares requirements of rigging equipment to ensure availability
Assist the engineering teams when setting up project plans
Perform rigging on major jobs
Comply with legal and mine safety standards and procedures
Work according to the Mine Health and Safety Act
Conduct regular safety inspections and initiate corrective action if necessary
Prioritise and supervise the tasks of subordinates in the area of responsibility
Assist with recovering of broken down or redundant mining machinery and equipment from the mine face
Work overtime and standby when required
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12/N3
Recognised Apprenticeship and Rigger Trade Certificate
3 years post apprenticeship experience in a Shaft environment
Code 14 driver’s license
Mechanical knowledge of overhead cranes
Other Skills/Competencies:
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Able to work at elevated heights
Ability to work in a team
Independent, proactive thinker and have the ability to do own job planning
Basic computer literacy will be advantageous
Crane driving skills will be advantageous
