We seek an experienced National Key Accounts Manager who will be responsible for planning, managing, and developing key accounts to increase sales and market share, and to develop strong customer loyalty and brand awareness. In addition, ensuring that corporate strategy is implemented and managed.






Job Title: National Key Accounts Manager _ Western Cape

Job Summary:
Key Account management and implementation (60%):
•Develop and implement strategies to grow sales and market share of the company in line with the business plan, focusing on building working relationships with key accounts customers.
•Increase revenue, manage expenses to an acceptable ROI and meet defined profit objectives across accounts managed
•Plan, execute and communicate results of key account interactions
•Actively seek out new revenue opportunities across existing and new customer base, engage with internal resources to implement such strategies
•Develop and qualify leads through both company-led marketing efforts and self-initiated account activities
•Provide marketing data, competitive intelligence and other such information to assist the company’s continual improvement efforts
•Implement plans and monitor and report on progress with all key customer stakeholders.
•Implement corporate strategies by ensuring products are represented on key account formularies and listed timeously at all wholesalers and vendors.

Relationship building (20%):
•Optimize existing relationships with key accounts, ensuring high profile and appropriate relationship building with the relevant stakeholders
•Seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities, initiate action plan to approach and secure new business for the company
•Develop a strong understanding of clients’ organizational structures and build relationships at both technical and senior management levels
•Establish customer needs and become the focal point for providing service to key clients
•Conduct effective presentations and meetings in a variety of settings
•Develop and provide programs, proposals and supportive documentation to develop business and ensure ongoing revenue increases
•Lead and participate in customer support efforts to build strong customer loyalty
•Occupies committee positions where appropriate and beneficial to the company

Internal co-ordination (10%):
•Pro-actively ensure interaction and co-ordination with field sales and relevant management to execute sales strategy
•Work closely with the marketing team to achieve seasonal and new product launch objectives
•Contribute to the overall effective functioning of the sales division as a member of the sales management team
•Make recommendations internally for new products and services to meet client needs

Staff management (10%):
•Manage the workflow and work outputs of Key Accounts Managers
•Ensure effective staff training and development
•Ensure effective performance management
•Attend to all aspects of staff supervision and support

•B degree or equivalent ideally Business Management

•8 – 10 years industry (KA experience) within a generic, FMCG and CAMS pharmaceutical environment
•Min 5 years’ pharmaceutical Sales Management experience
