PowerTech Vacancy for Operator Setter (2 Positions)

Position Type / Division: 3 months contract

Department: Core Cutting/Stacking
Position: Reporting To: Production Foreman

Job Specifications:
Key Responsibilities Include the Following:
The incumbent must adhere to the Health and Safety Rules, work according to Powertech Transformers quality standards and follow procedures and instructions. To set up core slitters, cut-to-length machine, stacking tables and jigs, and ensure core stacking is done according to quality specifications and method provisions. Set up slitting and cutting machines, set up jigs for core stacking, troubleshoot slitting and stacking non-conformances, identify improvement opportunities.

Personal Specification:
Grade 12 or N3;
N5/N6 Mechanical Fitter (Trade Tested);
1 – 2 years’ experience in a Production Environment;
Previous experience in Tool/Machine Setting advantageous ;
Engineering Technical Aptitude;
Use of measuring tools;

Abilities required:
Able to understand, interpret and read engineering drawings;
Able to work 12 hour shifts;
Be a team player;
Attention to detail essential;
Safety conscious;
Able to do physical work
Experience with working on the MS Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook);
