The Client is a total solutions telecommunication infrastructure and last-mile systems integrator and provider with a broad variety of marketable services and applications.
Utilizing its nationwide fiber optic network, the client provides cost-efficient carrier class last mile solutions encompassing a full spectrum of applications, services and products available today, as well as any planned future applications.
It has over 12 years of experience in the fibre optic network telecommunications service industry and is currently in the process of introducing other products and services. The company will thrive on being the number one choice for its services for the Zambian market and beyond.
To succeed in achieving this vision, the company is putting a great weight on providing strategic, financial, and operational leadership for its team through a competent Chief Executive Officer who will deliver this leadership and drive the company to its vision.
The CEO will be performing duties as the highest-ranking executive within the corporation to guide company practices and procedures. His responsibilities will include overseeing company operations, communicating between board members and other company executives, and making important decisions that impact the company’s brand identity and financial health.
As a CEO, he will be expected to provide strategic leadership and effective operational management to achieve the vision, mission and key objectives of the client in accordance with the Company’s core values and strategic plan.
This role reports to and is accountable to the Client Board.
The CEO currently has seven direct reporting employees as well as overall management responsibility for 79+ staff and a number of contractors.
He/she must meet workplace safety standards including maintaining a clean Police check.

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Strategic vision and leadership
In conjunction with the Board the CEO will provide strategic leadership to enable the client to achieve its vision and purpose through:
Leading the development of the company’s short and long-term strategies, ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
Contribute to the updating of the strategic plan for the Company
Implementation of strategic plan and annual operational plan ensuring strategic goals are met.
Creating and implementing strategies, together with the senior management team, to determine the direction the company will take
Report regularly to the Board on performance and risk ensuring the Board is fully informed to support strategic decision making and manage risk.
Maintaining awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities, industry developments, etc.
2. Operational Management
The CEO will provide leadership and management oversight for the operation of the Company including:
Making major corporate decisions and managing the company’s overall operations and resources.
Financial sustainability – The CEO will be responsible for managing the Company’s capital and financial statements, ensuring the client’s financial position is secure and sustainable in the long term.
Human resource management – The CEO is responsible for the recruitment and management of all staff and contractors according to the clients employment policies and procedures.
Evaluating the work of other executive leaders within the company, including directors.
Monitoring how various departments of the company operate and how they work together to achieve overall goals.
Enforcing adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics and ensuring the client meets its statutory obligations and legal requirements.
Creating a positive culture in the company and maintaining an excellent and motivating work environment.
Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
Develop and maintain the clients Policy and Procedures
Ensure the client’s commitment is reflected in operations
Promote a team culture that values diversity and well-being
3. Stakeholder Relationships
The CEO will build and maintain relationships both within and outside the Telecommunication sector.
Build and enhance the Company’s profile both locally and nationally through building partnerships and engagement with community, Company and Companies in the public and private sector
Communicating a uniform vision for the company and ensuring that it’s understood and acted upon.
Communicate effectively and establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board of Directors as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key community and other partners to facilitate achievement of shared objectives through liaison and networking or building strategic partnerships
Consulting with investors and other stakeholders to determine the company’s future path.
4. Be a leading Brand
The CEO will be communicating, on behalf of the company, with shareholders, government entities, and the public
Promoting the brand name in local and national conversations, collaborations, and initiatives
Effective media liaison and online social media presence
Ensure the clients participation and representation within telecommunication.
Identifying new opportunities to raise the profile and promote the client’s brand.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Qualifications:
Proven experience as CEO or in other managerial position
Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing the vision
Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles
Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance, etc.
In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and public speaking skills
Comprehensive knowledge of the telecommunication services sector.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
A Master’s degree in business is preferable.
