PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Deliver the Category Innovation Plan (CIP) to countries in the region by using category toolboxes.

Execute/Adapt the Process Specification

Ensure robustness for supply chain by evaluating process safety, manufacturing hygiene and product quality.

Consistent effective approaches to specifications, recommendations, technology transfer, main plant and proof of principle trials, project execution.

Design and operability of pilot plants fit for regional purposes.

Build excellence in the process team by building skills and competencies in partnership with category R&D

 

MINMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bsc Chemical Engineering

Minimum 2 years process engineering experience (post qualification)

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

High level of region-specific processing knowledge & expertise including third party configurations.

Process Development Engineer on regional projects with responsibility for the category.

Prepare, review and approve engineering documents (Process Specifications, General Arrangements, Equipment Specs). Escalate non-compliances to regional and category management.

Manages Process Development temps.

Effective planning to enable delivery of high quality prototypes for testing regional and global projects.

Competent in application of best practices in technology delivery (Project Execution, Early Product Management, Process Specifications, Process Validation).

Design and supervision of pilot plant experiments.

Leading and reporting of Main Plant Trials.

Monitor Process Engineering field for improvements in designs, new technologies, training programmes etc.

Ensure pilot plant designs are consistent with category recommendations and are scaleable within the region.

Preparation and proposal of capital expenditure on pilot plant upgrades.

Operate according to procedures, equipment and ways of working in line with the Unilever frameworks, standards and policies (SHE, SEAC etc)
