Production Engineer

Analyse and investigate failure modes of products in production (Root cause analysis, quality control).Coordinates production related improvement projects, inclusive of scrap reduction, quality improvements and cost reduction projects.Analyse layout of production processes and facilitate continuous improvement by applying Lean Principles.Conduct and facilitate production problem solving and implementation actions.Conducts process training (PMS) for operators.Initiate and evaluate operator’s competencies for status change process.Oversee adherence to quality requirements as specified in the work instructions and quality requirements.Performing risk assessments (HIRA).Analyse drawings and specifications to determine program/tooling input data, CNC machine cutting paths and calculates data.Performing project designs and drawingsProject management of internal improvement projectsProduction Drawings control.Compiling of technical reports (e.g. corrective / preventative action reports, internal audit reports, etc.)

Experience requirements

Minimum 3 years relevant experience in CNC manufacturing environmentProject management experience would be an advantageMinimum of 2 years CAD experience

Knowledge

Strong computer skills, Microsoft office and CAD.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Supervisory skills are essential.Must be able to read and perform mathematical calculations and drawings, feeds and speeds for cutting tools.Good understanding of lean principles.

Educational requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering.CNC basic programming/setting.CAD certificatesProject management will be an added advantage.
