Job Title: Product Specialist – OSP/Outside Plant Products
Location: Midrand
Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Performance Areas:
Providing the sales team (internal/external) with the necessary technical expertise to enable sales and sales processing.
Effectively manage the OSP team members, providing direction and guidance, monitor and evaluate.
Review product pricing, forecasts, and constantly monitoring inventory levels held at warehouses including liaison with production (locally and globally) to ensure supply timelines.
Providing specialist support, guidance, monitoring and evaluation of Installations and Maintenance Services.
Review of system stock levels, report on items ≥ 120days.
Provide product awareness training sessions (Employees, Clients, Contracts and Sub-contractors)
Building relationships with all stakeholders.
Maintaining ISO standards:
Ensuring that Suppliers conform to ISO standards.
Make product diagrams/specifications and any specific product requirements available to all stakeholders.
Oversee product non-conformances and taking the appropriate action where required.
Monitoring and Evaluation of Suppliers.
Ensure Suppliers Compliance to BBBEE legislation & Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
Assist with marketing and branding material for products.
Co-ordination of sales and market approach, provide sales strategy inputs.
Evaluation of price competitiveness.
Continuous analysis of the market segment and drive business development.
Identifying new opportunities, strategy development, evaluation and review.
Ensure the profitable sales of the product and the management of the life cycle thereof.
Communicating new products and product changes.
Provide and generate information for successful Tender / Bids / RFQs / RFIs / RFPs and Vendor applications.
Monitoring and Evaluation of Suppliers contractual obligations in terms of Quality, lead-times, EOL, DOA etc
Ensure that Supplier Contracts are updated (Renew/ Cancel.
Oversee matters around non-conformance in a timely manner.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, regulatory standards and statutory requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Matric
Diploma/ Degree in Engineering or Telecommunications
A minimum of 5 years Telecommunications Product knowledge and experience.
Must be an expert in the field of OSP Products.
Fibre Network design. (Bill of material and services)
Product pricing with international shipping component, pre-inspections, tariffs, duties etc.
Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office, Visio, Accpac experience
Thorough understanding of the operating environment (Telecommunications-ICT, Imports/Exports) and principles of competitive advantage
Thorough knowledge, experience and understanding of the Telecommunications Industry
Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles of product life cycle, financial structures, accounting procedures and purchasing processes.
Long working hours.
Required to attend meetings, functions/events.
National and International travel required
Code 8 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
Valid Passport.
Ability to manage Suppliers
