RBB Economics is an economics consultancy specialising in the application of economics to competition law. RBB is one of the world’s leading competition economics practices, with offices in London, Brussels, Johannesburg, Melbourne and The Hague. Competition economics concerns the behaviour of firms with market power, and covers issues such as mergers, vertical agreements, joint ventures, cartels, price setting and other potentially abusive behaviour. RBB provides professional, independent economic advice on such matters.

Person requirements We are looking for entry level candidates to join our Johannesburg office as Associates, or in internship positions. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials in economics, typically to post-graduate level, and preferably with an interest in industrial organisation. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, the ability to communicate economics clearly, and attention to detail are also desirable attributes. The recruitment process for entry level candidates involves two rounds of interviews and a short written exercise. At the interview, candidates will be required to demonstrate a good understanding of economic principles and apply that knowledge to a range of real world situations. RBB recruitment for full time positions runs throughout the year.
Degree requirements We are looking for candidates with economics degrees (including variants) with either Honours (3+1 years), Masters (3+1+1 years) or Phds.
