Job Requirements:
SHE:

Customer Relations:
Foster and maintain customer relations
Conduct daily unit inspections and compile report
Share information to promote effective decision making in health care
Monitor, maintain and clean medical equipment
Report faulty, damaged or missing equipment
Monitor and maintain consumable stock levels
Dispense and bill stock and consumables
Compile requests for stock and consumables
Distribute stock and consumables
Count stock for a stock take integrity check (check stock condition during the count)
Maintain and update the Scheduled Drug Register
Maintain the emergency trolley stock levels and update records (equipment and stocks)
Identify and report possible medical incapacity patients
Maintain patient records according to the scientific nursing process
Compile and check medical data, information and statistics
Report notifiable diseases to relevant stakeholders
Monitor and control patient flow in the facility
Ensure that patients are paraded when indicated
Initiate parading of patients
Implement and evaluate planned nursing care to achieve identified patient outcomes
Advocate for the rights of individuals, families, groups or communities and health care providers

Infection Control programme:
Monitor and control the Infection Control programme
Participate in Infection Control programme audits

Tuberculosis:
Monitor and maintain the Tuberculosis programme
Conduct and provide information to patients about Tuberculosis and Directly Observed Treatment (DOTS)
Receive patient and check identification
Carry out health assessments of patients (objective and subjective)
Conduct comprehensive patient management as per the Nursing process and treatment protocols
Develop a care plan in collaboration with patients and/or carers
Provide relevant nursing care in order to meet needs identified according to the scientific approach to nursing
Maintain physical and psychological comfort in acute and/or chronically ill patients, and significant others
Perform the last offices for deceased patients
Coordinate individuals and teams to achieve work unit objectives
Plan, organise and monitor work in own area of responsibility
Ensure discipline is maintained in department (Absenteeism, Time Management, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
Resolve grievances and disputes
