MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Manager: Security Services, as the Supervisor: Security, you will supervise the contracted security service as well as maintain and sustain a competent security force by enforcing adherence to company policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
–          Supervise the day-to-day application of service delivery standards of the contracted security company and ensure that all contracted security staff are adequately trained in terms of the required standards
–          Investigate and initiate systems, procedures or projects that will secure the company’s assets and people, including reacting to all emergencies and initiating appropriate measures to deal with such situations
–          Ensure that any requests for security services within RBM are carried out by arranging appropriate staff to assist with security services
–          Ensure that all procedures are adhered to as per SOP’s (e.g. access controls, Alco tests, etc.).
–          Conduct monthly site-specific tests to ensure competence and ad hoc checks to verify compliance.
–          Perform after hour visits to site as per the standard procedures
–          Perform standby duties as per the rotational system in place
–          Collect all incident reports, thoroughly check the information provided and take preliminary statements before handing over the required documents to the Security Superintendent
–          Attend and chair monthly safety meetings with contract security companies and maintain all SHEQ registers
–          Ensure that all posts are manned according to the contracts via daily visits and safety interactions
–          Conduct training on Alco tests and speed monitoring equipment and ensure & declare competence in that regard
–          Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Superintendent and/or Manager

–          Minimum losses, incidents and injuries
–          Comprehensive, accessible records
–          Implementation of proactive crime prevention initiatives
–          Safe working environment for all employees
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
–          Grade 12
–          3 – 5 years industrial security / policing / loss control experience at a supervisory level within a large organization
–          Drivers License: EB (Code 08)
–          Completion of industrial security-related training would be an advantage
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
–          Computer literate: MS Office while SAP is preferred
–          Well-developed supervisory and people management skills
–          Sound judgment, reasoning and decision making skills
–          Strong risk management / risk assessment skills
–          Excellent written and verbal communication skills
–          Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
–          Strong relationship building skills
