Job Title: Consultant/Trainer 
Location: Gauteng Province and Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Reports to: Rise Up Resource Team
Salary: Negotiable, ranges from $250-$600 per day and commensurate with experience.

The purpose of the position ideal consultant will have expertise in policy issues affecting girls and women in South Africa (specifically Gauteng Province and Durban). The consultant will possess excellent training, facilitation, and team building skills and have an innovative and creative approach to problem solving in group settings. This will be a project-based consultancy that could require travel up to 4 times between November 2019 -June 2020 throughout Gauteng Province and Durban.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Rise Up team to adapt the training curriculum implementation with different populations in South Africa (specifically those residing in Gauteng Province and the city of Durban)
  • Implement a participant-centred training methodology focused on active learning
  • Provide training participants with virtual and in-person technical assistance on proposal development (as needed)
  • Submit timely invoices and training reports

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience training and co-training diverse populations in the areas of leadership, gender equity, social justice, and advocacy in South Africa
  • Strong knowledge of advocacy, policy-making, and local, provincial, and national laws affecting women and girls in Gauteng Province and the city of Durban
