The successful candidate will be based and working from the company’s head office in Bromhof, Randburg, Gauteng.

RJ Connect is a medium business enterprise that imports and distributes specialized industrial ruggedized products into Africa. The company supplies support, implementation, and provision of network communication backbones for major vertical markets for industries such as Power, Rail, Mining, Marine, CCTV, Solar, Wind, and Water.

The company is engaged in an ever-changing fast-paced market. The successful applicant will function effectively in such an environment, working closely with the sales and technical team supervisor. The applicant must have a proven track record in the ability and skills to work proactively and independently in the above-mentioned position.

Remuneration benefits will be discussed with successful candidates and any offers will be reduced to writing. Any subsidies or benefits offered may only activate on successful completion of a 3 to 6-month probationary period and is reliant on the completion of successful KPI scoring and job requirements. Necessary systems training will be provided.

 

 

 

 

Job Title: IT Technical Support / Field Application Engineer (FAE)
Location: Bromhof

Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities

To provide technical sales support and solutions for customers based on our full range of products.
Technical consulting and problem-solving abilities (installation/configuration/deployment).
To support in FAT (Factory Assurance Test) product testing and technical support cases (installation/configuration).
Support SAT (Site acceptance test).
Provide and facilitate technical training on internal and external products when necessary.
To manage additional assignments or projects as required by the company to achieve strategic objectives.
RMA product testing and troubleshooting.
Good understanding of firewalls and security
Good understanding of Networking, Switching, VLAN’s, Fibre, VPN’s and IoT
Reporting on Site visits
Reporting on support cases
Oversee environmentals in assembly Lab

Desired Experience & Qualification:
IT Technical Support Technician 3+ yr. Working experience
Grade 12 / Matric
Minimum of 3 years in an IT support position
Good understanding of networking, Wi-Fi and IoT (LAN and WAN)
A+, N+ qualification
CCNA/Microsoft MCSA qualification will be advantageous
Linux knowledge & experience will be advantageous
C+, C++ Knowledge will be advantageous
Knowledge of PLC programming and SCADA development
Microsoft Office applications.

Package & Remuneration:
Basic salary of R 20 000.00 – R 35 000.00 based on experience
R 1000.00 contribution towards medical aid
