SAB employs more than 9,000 people, 75% of whom are from previously disadvantaged groups. In addition SABs
operations support an estimated 48,000 jobs at SABs first round suppliers. For each job offered by SAB and its first round
suppliers, 5.7 additional jobs are supported in the rest of the South African economy. In all 378,000 full time jobs in South
Africa can directly or indirectly be traced back to the production of SABs products.
A SAB graduate programme is a structured 18-24 month programme which is designed to address the acquisition of technical skills and experience for a graduate as well as familiarise the trainee with the SAB philosophies. The rigour of the programme should ensure that an individual that has completed the programme can be allocated an area of responsibility immediately.
