Electrical Engineering Light Current Graduates

To receive an on job training relevant to his/her career by being exposed to both administration and technical aspects of the relevant field by following an approved training programme.

Conduct test and generate test results including the reporting thereof in the Laboratory:
• Plan and prepare to conduct tests
• Receive all samples from clients in order to test them
• Conduct manual and / or automated tests and generate test results
• Record generated test results
• Interpret the results and generate reports
Apply calibration and maintenance procedures within the Laboratory:
• Prepare and apply calibration procedures
• Demonstrate the appropriate maintenance and basic trouble shooting required
• Calibration and verification of equipment
• Process proficiency samples
• Participate in in-house validations
• Write reports on all tests conducted

Participate in maintaining the quality management system and accreditation (where applicable) in the Testing Laboratory:
• Conduct all activities assigned to maintain the Quality Management System and Accreditation
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to relevant safety principles
• Maintain all aspects of the laboratory’s quality system in accordance with the Quality Manual and the laboratory’s accreditation to the relevant ISO standard e.g. ISO 17025, IEC CB Scheme and OHS requirements
• Ensure responsible housekeeping with in the work area or as directed by the line manager

Deliver excellent customer service for the  Testing Laboratory:
• Provide excellent customer service by meeting and exceeding the client requirements as per their requests
• Handle queries and resolve problems within sphere of control
• Resolve customer issues within the desired time frame
• Follow up on customer queries, complaints etc. where necessary
• Delivery beyond the client expectations

Optimize own performance within the team for the Testing Laboratory manufacturing Business Unit:
• Participate as a productive team member
• Manage own performance in order to meet departmental objectives
• Value diversity and actively build business relationships
• Ensuring that one is able to seek guidance and mentorship from more experienced team members where necessary

Ensure that all administration and reporting is kept up to date (within scope of control):
• Submission of weekly, monthly reports,  time sheets and any other related documentation
• Submission of claims e.g. subsistence and travel timeously and accurately
• Submission of all reports (weekly, monthly quarterly) etc. within scope of control on time

• You will receive a 12 Months Fixed Term Contract which you will get after reading and accepting all the policies and procedures as provided by the SABS
• You must have a Degree / Diploma in (Electronics, digital systems, control systems, digital communications, radio Engineering, TV engineering) or equivalent
• You will be remunerated R5000, 00 per month as an allowance
• You must have register with SARS and submit your Tax Number to HR
• You will be given access to (Telephone/Internet & E-mail etc.)
• You will receive a relevant Personal Protective Equipment for safety purposes
