We require an experienced Safety Administrator to effectively administer and organise all Occupational Health and Safety related administrative matters.
The administrator must maintain professionalism with all internal and external role players.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Collate statistical data received from Sites for the compilation of Safety Reports.
Capture statistical data, incidents and safety related information on the S4 system.
Provide support services to the Sites for all S4 related issues.
Assist with the implementation and rollout of safety awareness campaigns.
Schedule monthly health and safety committee meetings.
Take minutes at health and safety committee meetings.
Ensure that the S.H.E. Rep Inspection reports are received on a monthly basis.
Ensure that all first aider, fire fighter and S.H.E rep certificates are current.
Receive requisitions from sites and process the 6.1, 6.2 and 6.6 safety appointment and retraction letters as per the OHS Act.
Follow up with sites on audit close outs and ensure that the completed close out reports are received timeously.
Keep track of awards and achievements from sites.
Update the NCR register and ensure that all NCR close out reports are received.
Ensure that work related injuries on duty are registered with FEM (COID).
Follow through on outstanding claims to ensure that the claims are kept up to date.
Ensure that FEM is informed of employees working cross border (Section 23).
Communicate with the Quality Document Controller for the archiving of documents at Document Warehouse.
General administration:
Filing, record keeping,
Screening and answering of incoming phone calls, transferring of calls to correct persons and/or departments.
Maintain upkeep of Safety department and office equipment.
Skills, Experience & Education
• Experience: Minimum of 2 year experience in a similar position
• Grade 12
• Safety Qualification advantages
• Advanced computer literacy
• Extensive knowledge of COID administration.
