Save the Children South Africa (SCSA) is implementing a programme that seeks to ensure that all children benefit from a strengthened child – rights system that delivers and monitor the realisation of their rights, and ensure that children experience less violence in schools, homes and communities. The programme also aims to support children to influence Local, Provincial and National Governance to ensure their survival, learning and protection.

Through this programme, SCSA intends to push for increased public investment in children and reduction of violence against children in both school and home settings.

Job Title: Data Capturer Intern (Procurement Administrator)
Duration: Six Months
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer / Procurement Manager
Direct Reports: None
Base: Pretoria
Child Protection Level: 1
Travel Requirements: None
Budget Responsibilities: None
Asset Responsibilities: Laptop

Purpose of the Job
The main purpose of this role is to facilitate and co-ordinate the gathering of data on the current supplier database and the vetting there-off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Send communications to request documents from current suppliers on database
  • Verify banking details received versus banking details on the system
  • If a discrepancy appears, follow-up with relevant company and get correct details
  • Capture new banking details on the relevant system
  • Load suppliers on the new system

Other duties

  • Vetting of current supplier data-base
  • Status tracking and reporting
  • Ad-hoc duties as requested by management

Experience

  • Grade 12 (minimum)
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Competent
  • Data Capturing Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the Procurement field working on a supplier database
