Scalabrini is looking for an empathetic, energetic and flexible individual to join the team, providing support to the centre and Executive Director and assuming day to day responsibility for managing the centre’s facilities.



Job Title: Facilities Manager
Location: Cape Town

Job purpose:

The Facilities Manager provides support to the Centre’s activities through the management and coordination of all support services (excluding finance), including but not limited to:

  • Facility and Facility Hire management;
  • Guesthouse management;
  • Housekeeping staff and services management;
  • Reception management;
  • Security and systems coordination;

The role also provides ad hoc support to the Executive Director and the Centre’s programme teams as requested.

Duties and responsibilities:

Overview of areas of responsibility:

Director support: providing support to programmes as necessary, completing ad hoc projects as required:

Facilities management: overall management of all facilities (internal and external use), development and implementation of reporting systems for expenses and usage, maintaining conference management system data integrity, payment management, petty cash management, equipment, furniture and refreshments management, systems and infrastructure management, liaising with R&M contractors as necessary, reception oversight, IT and printer systems support, smoke and fire systems maintenance; donations and fixed assets register.

Guesthouse management (which forms part of Scalabrini’s sustainability strategy): overall responsibility for 11 room Guesthouse staff management, guest liaison, management of reservations system, ensuring guest experiences are positive, month end processes (including finance reconciliations), liaising with group booking coordinating best rates for large bookings, managing group bookings end to end, stock control, laundry management.
