Vacancy Details

The following vacancy exists within our FINANCE DEPARTMENT based in Saldanha Bay

JOB PURPOSE:

To manage financial and management accounting processes as well as sea-going remuneration and vessel compliance support service to the Saldanha Fleet Operations, which inform sound strategic decision making required to optimise performance to achieve objectives for growth and profitability.

KEY PERFORMANCE:

Duties include but will not be limited to:

Manage efficient and timeous budgeting, forecasting and quota reconciliation process for Saldanha Fleet Operations:

  • Determine CAPEX budget according to guidelines in conjunction with the Fleet Manager
  • Compile catch forecast data; Analyse catch forecast balance
  • Create quota catch plan for input to budget
  • Manage Saldanha Fleet Operations budget formulation process

Provide timeous and accurate monthly management accounts and other financial and management reports:

  • Manage month-end closure process in line with Group deadlines
  • Review management accounts; prepare financial vessel reporting pack to be presented to OPSCO
  • Create financial reports and analyses with commentary on monthly, quarterly, annual and adhoc basis as required.

Monitor efficient operational, capital expenditure and project cost control:

  • Ensure internal control system is maintained according to best practice
  • Monitor controls to ensure expenditure stays in line with budgets
  • Collaborate with relevant Managing Executives/Directors to improve efficiencies

Provide efficient sea-going remuneration and vessel compliance management support service:

  • Create accurate dashboard for sea-going remuneration process
  • Release relevant payments, such wages, payroll, ad hoc payments as required

Provide leadership and manage the team effectively

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • BCom or relevant tertiary qualification(CIMA advantageous)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good computer literacy in Microsoft applications especially Excel.
  • Good numeric ability.
  • Deadline driven.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good understanding of key business processes and practices.
  • Demonstrates influencing skills.
