Job Description

Check consumable stock levels and maintain price and vendor lists, run MRP and process requisitions and re-order point items
Ensure local and overseas orders are loaded and confirmed accordingly and expediyte own orders
Oversee consumable consignment stock with various suppliers
Identify and meet with critical suppliers as well as attain new BEE suppliers and evaluate existing suppliers
Attend production meetings and supplier follow up meetings
Negotiate and discuss price, service, quality, lead time, payment terms and non conformances
Keep updated on price increases, monthly PPV and cost roll to ensure systems are kept updated
Promote and support value engineering exercises to save company assets
Update suppliers on ECN files and updated drawings
Ensure SHERQ policies and legislation is adhered to
Ensure oneself is available for special tasks required from Management

Minimum Requirements

Diploma in Purchasing Management
5 years exp in a management capacity within the buying function
Fluent in English, oral and written
Valid driver’s license
