Minimum Requirements

Qualification(s) :
Appropriate Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent
Relevant post graduate management qualifications will be an e.g. MBA/MBL
Experience:
Minimum 8 years management experience within the electrical utility industry
Experience in a production planning and optimisation and forecasting environment would be preference
Skills and Competencies

Business understanding and acumen, with particular reference to the electricity
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively, at executive level
General management skills
Ability to establish the necessary organisation and business processes
Negotiation and networking skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to analyse trends, to forecast potential business outcomes and to develop suitable response strategies over the short to medium term
Investment analysis skills
Mathematical and computer modelling capability
Key Responsibilities

Provides strategic business leadership for Eskom’s energy planning capability and decision making
Manage the Long-term and Medium term energy plan development
Manage production optimization development
Manages the resources (human and monetary) of the energy planning
Performs communication and relationship management both internally and externally
