Main Purpose of Job
Provide Mechanical engineering services to the Engineering department in support of the Epping Mill Operations team. To ensure Epping Mill assets are managed and maintained at world class standards. Ensure the manufacturing processes on all assets are continuously improved such that quality & efficiencies are improved, and cost & downtime reduced whilst maintaining world class safety.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure assets are maintained in a “Safe to operate” condition at all times, while promoting safe working practices and “design for safety” to meet all EHS objectives of the plant. This includes adherence to Statutory and Regulatory requirements.
Project management: Plan, organise and successfully execute Mechanical Projects in time and within budget. (Including specification writing and tender proposal evaluation.)
Provide Engineering solutions through modifications/upgrades to resolve operational / process problems to continuously improve the manufacturing process robustness
Manage changes in process and equipment required by changes in product specifications and productivity requirements. This includes updating of spare stockholding & technical support training.
Support QMS certification Audits, through assurance of relevant system compliance.
Train, develop and up-skill personnel by means of on the job as well as technical and generic training.
Communications – provide relevant and timely communications at all levels.
Job Requirements
Qualifications / Experience
Minimum of a BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary education
Minimum of 8 years previous project engineering and/or maintenance experience in FMCG environment
Key Compentencies
Excellent project management and execution skills is required
Above average computer literacy (incl. CAD, MS Project, Excel etc.)
Experience with a CMMS e.g. SAP PM is preferable.
Diaper and/or Femcare manufacturing experience would be an advantage
Structured problem solving & strong analytical skills
LEAN / TPM implementation experience would be an advantage
Has demonstrated good leadership qualities in line with K.C policies and practices. Experience leading/managing a Maintenance or cross functional team is required.
Excellent design, process improvement and maintenance experience
